TEHRAN – An ancient coffin has recently been found in Jubji, a historical site in Iran’s southwestern Khuzestan province.

Preliminary speculations suggest that the coffin may date back to the Parthian era (247 BC–224 CE).

A team of Iranian archaeologists has discovered the object while conducting a rescue operation in Jubji, Mehr reported on Sunday.

However, the team should complete studies before the coffin is fully unearthed.
